My Favorite best 7 Riffs.....

Okay, Alright, its finally here! You will be quite surprised to see some very prominent names missing from this list. So, what I have done is, compile the top 7 favorites of my Guitar Riff list and leave the remaining 3 choices to you( see I am an awesomely generous person!!).

Whole Lotta Love - No doubt in my mind as to who was/is the greatest Riff-Master of All Time. Jimmy Page!! A totally bizzare song with some wierd screeching/moaning vocals(I don't know what else to call it!!!). It gets so addictive that you start mouthing the Riff all the time.

Back In Black - When I first heard it, something didn't seem right. The vocals it was. After a couple of listens, I said "What the crap, this is one of the best that I've ever heard". You know what?, Angus Young is the C in AC/DC cause' no one shocks the way he does!! By the way, don't miss a chance to see him do those onstage dance stunts (ever wonder how he does that??)

All right Now - This song was made in the year 1969 by a UK band named "FREE". 10 years later the same riff (or almost) was heard when I was listening to "Highway to hell" by AC/DC which seemed to gain far more popularity. So people, listen to both versions and tell me what you think. No matter what, this riff stays much ahead than "Highway to Hell" for me!!

Colourblind - I found this song on an Indian website (www.itwofs.com) cause' I heard that the composer (Ram Sampat) was Indian. For all you Americans, I mean Asian Indian!!. "Indian in a Rock song???" is what I asked myself. Next thing that I'm doing is playing this song back-to-back atleast 15-17 times. Am I biased? Yes, I am. No questions asked!!
An interesting note : My cousin, to this day, doesn't belive that this song is actually composed by an Indian (Asian Indian!!!)

Kashmir - Youtube has a big role in me loving this track and more importantly the riff. Most of the posted messages on Youtube for the track "Wake Up" RATM suggested that "Wake Up" seemed to have been heavily influenced by "Kashmir". Thats when I shifted my gears from RATM to Led Zeppelin. Classic!!

Killing in the Name - How can I not have "Rage Against the Machines" in my countdown list??. If you are really angry, want to beat someone down to pulp or just swear loudly for no apparent reason, listen to this track on FULL VOLUME!!. You'll definitely know what I meant!! Tom Morello simply Rocks!!

Like I said, I wanted to actually make a list of 10 best riffs, I've now got 3 positions that are open and would like to fill these 3 with YOUR help. Let me know which are the best 3 riffs that you've heard and what I've missed out on. Until then, so long!!
