Review : In Bruges (2008)

I finally made some time to review another movie. I was hoping to do this sometime later, but in the end, it turned out that "In Bruges" was the deserving one.

"In Bruges" was referred to me by closest friend. I usually make my own decisions while renting a movie, and not too often do I consider others word for it. In this case, I'm glad I did.

The entire film is based in the very picturesque Bruges in Belgium. It starts of with the usual cuss words from the Cuss King Colin Farell (Ray) and his ingnorance to Bruges. Ray is an amatuer contract killer who is just done with his first assignment which goes awefully wrong in London. He along with Ken (played by Brendan Gleeson) flee to Bruges as instructed by their boss Harry (played by Ralph Fiennes). While in Bruges, Harry orders Ken to kill Ray for the aweful crime of killing an innocent kid during his assignment. Ray is devastated at the very outset that this unfortunate incident had hapenned and is filled with remorse. Seeing this, Ken, instead of proceeding with this boss's orders of killing Ray, lets Ray get away.

Now, the boss who is not too happy with the way things have turned out decides to take matters into his own hands and goes to Bruges. By telling what happens from here will give away everything.

It has been a long time since I last saw Colin Farell playing a role that suits him the best and he gives a terrific performance. Brendan Gleeson (I honestly didn't know him until I saw this movie) gives an fantastic supporing role. But the scene stealer is Ralph Fiennes who plays the ferociously foul mouthed character. The photography is sheer brilliant and make you want to go to this heavenly place.

This movie will be on top of my DVD collection for quite some time.

All in all I will now DEFINITELY visit Bruges atleast once in my lifetime.

Grade : A-
Repeat Value : 8/10,(meaning : I'll definitely watch it again)
Higly recommended
