Almost 3 months have passed since my last post. Well, this time I have no excuses. Nothing significant on either the personal end or at the professional end, although there were a couple of standouts here and there.
My Mom's Visit to the US:
The circumstance of my Mom's visit to the US was rather not ideal. My aunt had fallen very sick and it was only natural for my Mom was to visit her only sister. During my Mom's brief stay in the US, she visited me for a week. Without thinking twice, that one week was the best week for me this whole year. I had a great time and hope that she did too (of which I'm certain she did!!)
This has to be the highlight of Summer 2009. Hands down, one of the best experiences ever. Ever imagined how many questions your mind asks you at 9000 feet above ground?? Then try this!!
I was just a little nervous before the start. But once you're in that toy plane, you just can't chicken out. The heart was beating really hard when the doors opened and I was just dragged out for my jump, you know, like a prisoner being taken to the gallows. All the instructions that were being told over and over again before the jump simply evaporated. I couldn't remember a thing.
After we (the tandem instructor and I) jumped and were airborne, the feeling is just unexplainable. A couple of flips, and your head is facing the ground at 130 Mph with cold winds gushing through your veins. Simply amazing!!
Sometime after approximately 30 seconds of freefall, the instructor opens up the Parachute, everything comes to a standstill, it seems like a pause. Everything slows down after this. The ground looks beautiful and anyone who is in a proper frame of mind will definitely appreciate this. This is the part that I absolutely loved.
Finally came the landing. Since there was hardly any wind, the instructor recommended that we land on our asses (Supposedly, its safe. I really don't know why??). I can tell you this much that there was no ass bruise. Actually it felt good.
